First, a quick update on my semester changes. I have been really good about taking my reusable Starbucks cup with me every time I go to Starbucks. Of course, this has become easier to do since I haven't been going there as much lately so the cup is always clean when I need it.
I got a little behind on trying to do some cleaning at least once a week toward the end of the semester but I made up for it last Monday when, apparently, I got bitten by the cleaning bug and really cleaned the kitchen/living room area. It looks much more organized now.
I am still trying to eat healthier and not snack as much but it's been difficult since we've been really short on funds.
Now onto summer projects! Yay summer!
I have started revising my 'Dark Ones' story. I did find out I'm probably going to have to change the title though because too many people are using the 'Dark Ones' for their Harry Potter fanfic. Eh, who knew. I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of at least one sex scene (not overly graphic because I was young and inexperienced when I first wrote them AND it's supposed to be for young adults). There are just too many love interests for the main character. I guess that's what happens when you start writing something when you are in elementary/middle school and revise it constantly through middle/high school while constantly adding new friends and characters to the plot. It kinda needs to be downsized. Some people say there are too many characters but a lot of the YA I'm reading lately has a lot of characters. And it's not like they are all main characters. Plus, I kill off half of them anyway (Spoiler).
I'm also going to be taking a copyright class through the Eighth Floor here in Tulsa. I don't think I could go through the whole summer without getting some sort of education-type thing. I think educating myself is just ingrained in me now from going to school for so long.
So, stay tuned peeps for my further adventures in trying to write YA fiction!
